Bill Nye the Science Guy - WindHere is the wind experiment we did in class, you can also try this with an adult at home!
What you need: - string or fishing line - tape - balloon - plastic straw Experiment: 1. Pick a room with walls to complete the experiment. Start with the string, the straw, and blow up the balloon. 2. String the string through the straw so that the straw can slide on the string. 3. Attach the blown up balloon to the straw with tape. 4. When you hang the string from the walls the string should be at eye level so that you will be able to reach the balloon by blowing on it with your mouth. Tape one end of the string to a wall on one side of the room, then tape the other end of the string to the other side of the room. This way the string makes a line across the room, above the ground. 5. Once the string is fastened to either side of the walls, try to move the balloon across the line without touching it! Therefore, creating wind. :) **If you do not have tape or are not able to tape to the walls in your house, tie the string to two chairs or have one person holding each end of the string!
